Date Night at the Movies

We went to the movies on our date night last Friday.
The movie was free.
The popcorn was free.
The candy was free.
And we sat on the grass in lawn chairs, drinking coffee out of our thermos.
(side note-- i love to bring our own coffee in a thermos.  it feels so vintagey.  plus it saves about $8 since we don't have to get coffee from Starbucks.  and you know, we have a thing for thermoses)
Best part?  We watched Roman Holiday.
It was a great night.

Even though we only get out on a date twice a month, we are always looking for new things to do.
It can be easy to fall into the "go out to dinner and then what else do we do for fun?" rut.
Plus, we have a little 3rd wheel along with us now, so he's part of the equation.
(although, we really like taking him with us because it's fun to have time with just our little guy.  he gets some extra attention showered on him by mommy and daddy those nights.)
A friend told Aaron about a black and white movie series at a local university and it sounded perfect.
Our dates start late--between 7 and 7:30, so we have to take that into the equation too.
The movie started at 8.
Enough time to get there and have a late dinner afterward.

Cool night air, stars overhead, Disneyland fireworks in the distance, Audrey Hepburn, Gregory Peck, Italy, Vespas, cuddling my baby boy and holding hands with my best friend--pretty much a perfect date night.
Date nights are essential, don't you think?
If you think you can't do a date night, read here about our babysitting trade.
It's a lifesaver!

Local readers are you looking for a fun date?
They have movies playing for the next few weeks.
Go here for more info.
And, the movies are playing about a 2 minute walk from Bruxie, mentioned here, so you can get a really good burger on a waffle.
Maybe we'll see you there in 2 weeks.
What are your ideas for fun, different dates?
I'd love to hear them, so please share.
Love from,
Greta

I consider this to be a complete sugar and cream kinda date! Sweet, wholesome and just right. Love it and LOVE Roman Holiday too!
