Isn't It Romantic

I know I should be sleeping. You can read why here. But before I can sleep, I need to relax. It's just how I work. And for me, relaxing is either reading or writing. I got to read a lot over Christmas, but did not do any writing at all. So here I am, catching up. It feels good.
And it makes me forget how tired I am. Which can be a good or bad thing, depending on how you look at it. Right now, it's a good thing.

So here we go, back to December. I told Aaron I wanted to go on a Christmassy date. I offered some ideas but left the final decision up to him. I am the planner in our marriage, but sometimes I like to remember the old days when we were dating and he was the planner. I learned early on that expecting Aaron to read my mind got us no where except in a fight, so now if I want something, I tell him. It works for us.
I said I wanted Christmassy, and that is what he gave me.
I love my husband.

The ferry.
The Ferris wheel.
Us. 11 years strong.
Christmas lights on the docks..
A boat parade in Newport Harbor on a Wed night.
He didn't plan that. It was a happy accident.
Check out that yacht.
A sailboat.
An evening walk through the empty streets of Balboa Peninsula.
Everyone was probably at the mall.
It was a sweet and simple night. But I am a simple girl and pretty easy to please. Knowing that a little thought went into it means the world to me.
I always tell Aaron that he is teaching our boys how to treat their some day wives. He's doing a good job, don't you think?
And I think this might become a new Christmas tradition. One just for us!
