Making Art

A few weeks ago, James said to me, "Mommy, I'm not homeschooled any more."
I was pretty surprised by this news, and asked him why he thought this.
His answer, "because we haven't made any art in such a long time."
He was right.  It had been a while. ( "such a long time" to a 4 year old is a week)  We'd been sick and I hadn't really felt like breaking out the art supplies and doing any projects.  But, given that my son's education was clearly at stake, I decided it was time to get back to work.
Here are some of the things we've been working on:

We do a lot of painting

We practice cutting and pasting.  James cut out the leaves for this tree.

Another cutting project.  This one led by Ginger.  It incorporates 2 of James great loves: scissors and tape.

A Spooky Halloween picture by James.  Title: Owls in a Tree

More drawing.  We like to draw construction vehicles.

A most favorite thing to do is draw with Daddy

Who knew this English teacher would turn into an art teacher?

Cool! Tell me how to do tie dye. They would totally love that. Batik too. The more messy and involved the project, the cooler they think it is.
You are an awesome mom. See, you don't just have to have girls to do arts and crafts, right!

I forgot to say how I love James' drawing face. Aaron's duck lips are cute too but the tongue sticking out is great!
